I really love the "do it yourself" magazine and they love my friends...

Seriously....this magazine is so fun!  I have been a fan of do it yourself for awhile because it is that good.  I was flipping through the summer issue and I spotted a few friends!

Meet Kara and Tim Paslay!  The are the husband and wife duo from Tulsa, OK.   You can visit Kara's website here!

Don't ya love this piece that Tim built!  Too cool.

I flipped a few more pages...and there she was.....Mod Podge matte was used for this dresser design made by John Loecke.

Awwwwwwww and then I spotted sweet Michele Beschen!  I have know her for years and she is a true gem, amazing creative talent and a whole-lotta fun!

Heirloom in Claremont, CA - Grand Opening this Weekend.

If you are a fan of Creative Juice, then you are a fan of my good pal......Rob Lewbel and you don't even know it.  Rob (aka Robbie) and I go way back.......he was pals with my hubby before I met my hubby.

Over the years Rob and I have collaborated on many projects together - short films, photography art and Creative Juice.  Rob was a huge creative force behind Creative Juice.  He directed almost half of the 104 episodes and even directed the episode that I got my first Emmy Nomination for.

Rob dives head first into creative projects so when he told me that he along with his gf Becky were going to open a shop I just knew it would be awesome......and it is.  The shop has a arty, foodie, vintage, diy and local vibe.  They feature handmade, artists and cool stuff.

The grand opening is this Sat - so if you are in the area pop by!

I spy Mod Podge

Art by me and Rob.

Back home with my candle purchase.....really good scent and soy.

Hooray for Crochet and Drew Emborsky

Look what came in the mail........It is a copy of Crochet It.Love It. Wear It. How about...Covet It! lol. I was thinking about doing a giveaway with my copy but, I think I'll have to keep this for myself!

let's peek inside

Love Love Love this design! How cozy warm and chic does this look? The button choice was spot on and the faux fur looks so soft.

This design has my sister written all over it! The color, the texture, the waist wrap. You could just throw this on over a tank or thin tee and be ready to go.

This one is all me! The delicate ruff at the sleeve is so cute and the baby doll bottom is too cute. I would love to partner this with a pair of skinny jeans. I love the color choice too! I think it would be really pretty in a light oatmeal yarn.

What Else???

I perused through the book to see what extras Drew and the team at Leisure Arts had included in in the book.

1. Great Photos
2. Clear Instructions
3. Good Illustrations
4. A Prom Dress
5. A Darling Scarf
6. General Instructions
7. Gauge Guide
8. Stitch Guide
9. 12 Different Patterns
10. Something for Everyone!

Meet Drew! Drew Emborsky is my crafty pal, glitter confidant and a super talented designer. You may know Drew from Knit and Crochet Today on PBS or from his many books or product line of tools for crochet.
