Here's a little craft project that stitchers will love.

Spool Wreath

Grab some wood spools (vintage or new) and spruce them up with a little paper and paint.  To make the wreath, I used armature wire, of course you could use a wire hanger as well.  I just happen to have wire and no wire hangers because like Mommy Dearest...I don't believe in wire hangers.

Materials:

FolkArt Acrylic Colors - Spanish Olive

FolkArt Acrylic Colors - Holly Leaf

FolkArt Acrylic Colors - Red Velvet

FolkArt Metallics - Rose Pearl

Mod Podge Matte

Scrapbook paper

Large pearls

Armature wire

Pliers

Paper mache star

Wide ribbon

Steps:
1. Paint four spools Red Velvet, four spools Spanish Olive and four spools Metallic Rose Pearl.

2. Cut small strips of paper to fit around the inside of the spools. You will need one strip per spool. For each spool, coat both sides of the strips with Mod Podge, position on the spool and topcoat with more Mod Podge. Use your fingers to press out any air bubbles. Smooth your brush strokes. Continue until all the strips are attached to the spools.

3. Thread the spools and pearls onto the armature wire. Position a pearl in between each spool. Form into a circle and secure the ends by twisting the wires together with pliers.

4. Paint the paper star with Holly Leaf paint. Once dry, dry bush a coat of Spanish Olive over the Holly Leaf. Tie the star to the center of the wreath. Tie a bow to the top of the wreath.
