A Night at the LA Phil with John Williams

All dolled up and ready for a night on the town!

A Night at the LA Phil with John Williams

Disney Concert Hall.

Frank Gehry designed the building and the acoustics of the concert hall were designed by Yasuhisa Toyota. The hall opened on October 23 2003.

Ready to go in!

The musicians are taking their seats!

The organ.

In all, there are 72 stops, 109 ranks, and 6,125 pipes; pipes range in size from a few inches to the longest being 32 feet.

The organ is a gift to the County of Los Angeles from Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc.

And....Mr Williams.

He has probably composed and conducted some of Hollywood greatest movie songs and soundtracks. The night began with bang and ended with Life on Earth from ET and The Imperial March (Darth Vader's Theme) from Star Wars. It was amazing.

Some of his most famous works are Superman, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Jaws, Indiana Jones....and the list goes on and on.

John Williams has 45 Oscar Nominations and is tied (with Newman) for the most nominations after Walt Disney.
