He sewed it on my old machine and used the pattern dials as well. He gave it to her yesterday and the verdict was, she loved it, she put it straight on and wore it home. He is so tickled pink that she liked it and is now planning some sewing for himself. He has it all worked out that boys can be fashion designers for girls until they get married, but once they are married they have to find another job because then they are not allowed to look at girls/women anymore because they have a lovely wife, I am so proud of him. I would love to see some more boy specific sewing lessons out there. I helped my daughter sew a little stuffed bird by hand when she was 3, and she's done a number of other things since then (and since she got her own machine - a $20 EuroPro Dressmaker, which is great, but a b!tch to thread). Stitch cards (with pre-punched holes) helped early on, and "pockets" (simple pouches) and little tote bags are easy projects to get started. She is all the time wanting to make little things for her friends and her stuffed animals.Stephhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16972142811671064736noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23466420.post-69188342768531283572008-06-18T10:09:00.000-07:002008-06-18T10:09:00.000-07:00wow, this is so great.I've been afraid of my own n...wow, this is so great.
I've been afraid of my own new machine, and now my daughter has a machine of her own that was given as a gift.
I'm going to take some of your tips to heart. thanks!!!kntgrlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17635869813599588829noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23466420.post-64186143856021841742008-06-17T15:11:00.000-07:002008-06-17T15:11:00.000-07:00Hooray for sewing with kids!
